Samsong

Samson Uche Mogekwu, known professionally as Samsong, is a Nigerian contemporary gospel artist born on November 30, 1974, in Delta State.He discovered his singing talent during high school, adopting the stage name ‘Samsong’. He pursued a degree in Accounting at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State.

Samsong began his music career with the quartet ‘Praise Creation’, releasing the album Best of Life in 1996. After the group disbanded, he launched his solo career with the 2002 album Count Your Blessings, earning The Psalmist Award. His subsequent albums, including Still Counting (2004) and The World of My Dreams (2007), solidified his status in the gospel music scene.

Throughout his career, Samsong has received numerous accolades, such as ‘Best Male Vocalist’ at Today’s Music Award (2004) and The Amen Awards (2005), and ‘Best Video of the Year’ at the Vigoma Awards (2005). He has collaborated with artists like Onyeka Onwenu and Styl-Plus, and has performed internationally across Africa, Europe, and North America.
